LOS ANGELES, CA (March 15, 2016) – Staff members from Los Angeles-based Verifi, Inc., the leading provider of payment and risk management solutions for card-not-present merchants, recently spent four days on-site with Downtown Women’s Center to assist in the preparation and serving of meals for more than 600 homeless persons.
This was the second time Verifi employees donated their time and effort to one of Los Angeles’ most respected community-based organizations. The Downtown Women’s Center is the only organization in Los Angeles that is exclusively dedicated to addressing the needs of women overcoming poverty and homelessness in Skid Row.
For four days (February 23 – 26), teams of ten Verifi employees dedicated their time and effort to prepare nutritious meals from scratch for homeless persons who depend on The Downtown Women’s Center for food.
“Assisting the staff of the Downtown Women’s Center was a privilege for our team” said Matthew Katz, CEO of Verifi. “Every day of the year, their kitchen staff provides far more than nutrition to hundreds of homeless persons.. For four days, the Verifi team played a small role in that year-round program.”
In addition to employee time, Verifi donated funds to the Center’s day-to-day operations.
Verifi Las Vegas Team, Also Giving Back
Meanwhile, staff members from Verifi’s Las Vegas office also donated their time and efforts to the Las Vegas chapter of Three Square, where they helped pack 10,000 Kids Café meals for hungry and food insecure children throughout the community.
Three Square is an affiliate of Feed America and serves four counties in southern Nevada. Working with a service network of approximately 1,300 community partners, including non-profit and faith-based organizations, schools and feeding sites throughout Southern Nevada, Three Square will distribute close to 40 million pounds of food and grocery product this year – the equivalent of more than 33 million meals.
